NMSDC Supplier of the Year

The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) has honored MarkMaster Inc. with the title of National Supplier of the Year, with sales between $10 million and $50 million. This award is given to the company that best displays excellence in business acumen and community service in its sales division. The announcement was made on October 28, 2009 at the NMSDC Awards Banquet following its annual conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

"Mark and his company are much deserved for winning NMSDC Supplier of the Year. Mark is truly the 'Master' of creating and developing relationships with customers," said Malik Ali, president of FMSDC. "MarkMaster needs to be the company that all other firms need to benchmark as the standard for customer service."

MarkMaster Inc. was awarded the Regional Supplier of the Year in 1994, 1995, 2005 and 2009, but this marks the company's first national title. Mark Govin accepted the award and thanked many members of the council, including the late Dorothy Brothers. "I have a special 'thank you' to someone who can no longer be with us," said Govin. "Dorothy Brothers was my mentor and friend. She used to call me one of her boys. It is a privilege to be part of this organization."

MarkMaster Inc. is a Hispanic-owned company specializing in marking and identification products, including signs, stamps, banners, awards and namebadges. Established in 1933, founder Armand Govin's humble beginnings included selling rubber stamps door-to-door. Since then the family business has grown steadily. They also sponsor the MarkMaster Latino Scholarship, which annually sends two Hispanic students to prestigious Florida universities.
